I’m really going to miss cooking at my brother’s apartment after this year. It’s allowed me to be the most adventurous I’ve been with cooking in a long time. Even more importantly though, it’ll be tough not being around someone who shares similar interests in food, someone who I can freely make mistakes in front of without feeling embarrassed, someone who can validate hours of work in the kitchen with just a simple “wow, it’s really good.”

Graduation is in four weeks. For tonight’s meal, a classic made for the first time: hot and sour soup with a side of rice and furikake.

Let’s eat.
